CONTACT LENS

Understanding Refraction Normally, the cornea and lens bend (refract) incoming light rays to focus them on the retina. When there is a refractive error, the cornea and lens cannot focus light rays on the retina. Refractive errors can be corrected by eyeglasses, contact lenses, or eye surgery.

Contact lens

Contact lenses, or simply contacts, are thin lenses

placed directly on the surface of the eyes.

Contact lenses are ocular prosthetic devices

used by over 150 million people worldwide,

and they can be worn to correct vision or for

 cosmetic or therapeutic reasons.
